Railway on it's way! WITH COMPLETED PICTURES!!!

Western Herald, Bourke, Wednesday April 15th, 1891
Paragraph 5

THE contractors for the Nyngan-Cobar
railway (says the Cobar Herald) are making
slow progress. The men employed are
being continually shifted about from place
to place. Before long it is expected that a
large camp will be formed at Mount Boppy.
The men are all making good wages, and
seem satisfied.

Notice the stumps directly beside the rail! And is that 3 or 3 1/2 rails laid? Must have been very early days of the station and line. Also note original Station name, Mount Boppy.

Note change of name to Boppy Mount, the small building to the left has been replaced (fire no doubt), and there is even advertisements.

Other obvious changes from the first photo include the closing in of the alcove at centre front of building, sleeper-fortified platform, a second rail/siding, finer gravel around track, and telegraph lines! How much detail has been saved in these photos - you could recognise your grandfather if he were in it!

Upon close study of the latter two photographs, I am certain the train numbers are the same, 169, the jacket draped over the chair is identical, he bicycle is in the same place, and the shadows (including that of the water bag) are in the same spot too, so they were most probably snapped the same day, one after the other.
