BBCMC - Decreased Influx of Water


Sydney Morning Herald, Wednesday 26th may, 1897.


The Burra Burra Copper-mining Company, No Liability,
Mount Boppy, May 22.-Contractors making good progress
with sinking main shaft. The constant working of three
shifts has decreased the influx of water, which will enable
shaft to be sunk below the 150ft. level. The country
passed through is still brown ironstone gossan. The
machinery is working very well, and a fair supply of water
is still available in the company's dam. Mr John Foster,
of Emmaville an experienced mine manager, has been
engaged as mine manager, and will take charge on 1st

June.
