Excerpt from 'Cobar Mining' column.
Dubbo Dispatch, Friday, December 17, 1897
.....The newest enterprise in the district is the
Mount Boppy G.M. Co., the Anglo Australian
Exploration Co. having bought from Mr. Elwin
Lowe, O'Grady's prospecting area at Mount Boppy,
at a satisfactory price. Including new applications
tho company now holds 89 acres at Mt. Boppy and
there is an immense body of ore in sight. The
manager was expected on Thursday night, and this
journal wishes well to the newest of "low-grade
propositions." ......
I have to admit, I needed to look up the definition of "low-grade propositions" here. The best definition I found was "cheap labour and large capital" relating to NZ mining in 1916 (paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/AS19160928.2.72).
