Excerpt from Cobar column in the Dubbo Dispatch, Friday 17th December, 1897.
"...Last week we omitted to record that the previous
Friday evening the police of Cobar, Nyngan, and
Girilambone were alled on in hot haste to rally
forth and hunt for an unfortunate Bogan scrub
cutter, who had been missing nearly a fortnight.
Away went the excellent members of the force to
search for the scrubber's shrivelled corpse, with the
result that the Cobar police fouud the genttleman
comfortably located at Mount Boppy hotel. He
had a good time there and another at Hermidale..."
